GASA Group Germany expands its management. In addition to the long-time managing director Michael Bongers, Oliver Kessel has entered the executive board as the second managing director. From September 1, Bongers and Kessel will administrate GASA Group Germany as a team.

The decisive factor for strengthening GASA's management was strategic reasons. "In recent years we have invested a great deal of work in our new location and the optimisation of our processes", Michael Bongers looks back. "Now we want to focus even more on operating business, especially on the development of customer relationships, innovations and sales strategies." These will be the fields that Bongers will work on in the future with full commitment. Oliver Kessel will, among other things, be responsible for further optimising the processes at GASA Group Germany, as well as for the expansion of synergies and the services offered.

"I am very pleased that we have got a proven executive with Oliver Kessel, who I have come to know as entrepreneurial, ground-based and goal-oriented," said Michael Bongers. Following professional positions in the steel trade and banking industry, Kessel has been responsible in the retail sector for the past 17 years, including up to 800 retail shops and the development of online business. In addition, in the fashion industry, Oliver Kessel has developed a name as a decision-making manager with a talent for doer qualities and organisational skills.

The green sector is new terrain for Kessel. But he benefits from his experience in the textile and fashion sector. "These are highly competitive markets, which mainly serve female consumers and are characterised by changing colour trends", says Kessel, "and these are, of course, strong parallels to the green industry. " Michael Bongers agrees with him: "We know the market is adapting many colour trends originating in the fashion sector – so it is quite a strategic advantage if you know the processes of the fashion industry well and have experience in retail."

From the new lineup in the management, GASA Group Germany is also expecting to significantly improve its market position. "We intend to increase our presence in the market and with customers," said Bongers and Kessel agrees. "We want to push ahead with three things: the development of innovative products, the formation of strategic partnerships and optimal delivery and process performance." The location in Kevelaer offers the best conditions for this. "It is logistically perfect in the middle between the Danish Odense, where our parent company is headquartered, our sister company in the neighbouring North Holland and the markets in Southern Europe", says Bongers. This strategic advantage is now to be utilised even more, Bongers and Kessel announce.

The new managing director-duo at GASA Group Germany apparently has grand plans. The green industry may be curious.
